It was an incredibly rewarding mission, as Ed and Gil delivered panels to residences of Khumbu Valley, and the Himalayan English Boarding School in Lukla.

Role: Director, Co-Producer Client: Independent Film Project Sponsors: Avex Sport, Hammer Nutrition "Moment" is a documentary, short form film co-produced and directed by Jon Mancuso that explores the meaning of “moment” and how it applies not only to the often misunderstood sport of highlining, but to our daily lives and the obstacles we all face in life. The film features some of the most iconic lines in the sport, including the recently established “Walk in the Park” on Long’s Peak, CO (the highest established line in the US at over 14,000 ft.) as well as some of the sport’s top athletes. It is scheduled for release in late 2016.

But Alaska can be an unforgiving place. Instead of a quiet glacier camp and rejuvenating alpine climb on 14,831-foot Mt. Bear, her small self-supported team experienced sketchy crevasse-ridden navigation, multiple life-threatening situations, and a storm that held them captive until they ran out of food. As Melissa recounts, “That’s why they call it climbing, not summiting.”

The 6 week expedition culminated in the first ascent of Mustang Himal (20,600ft). The content from the trip resulted in a 3 part video series for Eddie Bauer, as well as receiving the National Geographic "Extreme Photo of the Week" and subsequent feature on the Nat Geo Adventure blog.
