In the spring of 2015, Jon accompanied Melissa Arnot to Nepal to document her attempt to become the first American woman to summit Mt. Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen. Working as DP for Condé Nast Entertainment, Jon was the “one man show” responsible for shooting and in-field directing 5 episodes of the series “The Climb”.
On April 25th, 2015 a massive earthquake rocked Nepal killing over 8000 people and setting off an avalanche at Everest Basecamp that destroyed camps and claimed the lives of 22 climbers and support staff. The events shut down the climbing season on Everest, and “The Climb” took a radical twist in story line.
